Computer music production :
- Mix without compression on your master-bus.

-Try to avoid having any plug-ins running on your mix-bus.

-Do not normalize your stereo mix.

-Try to be well under -3dbFS on your meter.
These advices will leave more headroom ( workspace ) for the mastering process
and increase the quality of your sound.
Remember, the main purpose for mastering, is to enhance your track´s sound quality, and make it sound good on as many playback-systems as possible. It be a high-end music system, in a car, on the internet or in a pair of headphones.
